Come and Walk Through Hartford's
"Corridor of Dreams"

On Thursday May 1 st , beginning at 6:00PM invited guests and friends will walk into a gym that has been transformed into a technical wonderland with video screen projecting the campus buildings and a pool that makes you feel the Caribbean flavor that Hartford possesses with floating candles and bongo players. The Learning Corridor's Big Event : “Corridor of Dreams” will be its first major fundraising event. This will be a fun and different event to support one of Hartford 's newest and brightest stars-The Learning Corridor. The vision that became a reality with the collaboration of a community and its many partners has become a true “Corridor of Dreams”.
This special event promises to be filled with good cheer, good food and good company. The Connecticut Restaurant Association has adopted the event, and will be highlighting their finest restaurants ( Max Restaurant Group, Hawthorne Inn, Catering by Carbone's, Pastis, Carmen Anthony Restaurant Group, and Azuls ). Libations, coffee and deserts have also been donated ( Future Brands, LLC/ABSOLUT, Hartford Distributions, Inc, Pepsi Bottling Company, Robert Mondavi Winery, Modern Pastry and Omar Coffee ).
The “Corridor of Dreams” Honorary Chairs are Senators Christopher Dodd and Joseph Lieberman, Congressman John Larson and Congresswoman Nancy Johnson. Governor John Rowland, Mayor Eddie Perez, and Senator Kevin Sullivan, are the event Chairpersons and will all attend and speak at this event. They will address the guests and remind them what a dream, teamwork, and generosity can accomplish. Pamela Churchill, VP of Development and Marketing at The Learning Corridor says, “$150,000 dollars will be raised in support of the Learning Corridor's operations and special programs on campus. This is an astonishing figure for a first time event”. We invite all to join us in being a part of this event and celebrating one of Hartford 's biggest win.
The Learning Corridor is a 16-acre campus consisting of a unique cluster of schools; the Montessori Magnet Elementary School, Hartford Magnet Middle School, the Greater Hartford Academy of Math & Science, and the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts all managed by the Capitol Region Education Council. Also included on the campus are support programs for the youth-- a Boys and Girls Club and the Aetna Center for Families. The Learning Corridor will be blending public health concepts into the educational instruction for students, faculty, parents and the entire community. There is no other public school campus in the country that combines these elements. The Learning Corridor was developed by a collaborative effort called the Southside Institutions Neighborhood Alliance (SINA), composed of Hartford Hospital , the Institute of Living , Connecticut Children's Medical Center , Trinity College , and Connecticut Public Radio, along with the State of Connecticut and the City of Hartford .
